I have always found that hilarious. How men's capacity to understand women's struggle is most clear when experienced through their daughters. I think its a bit messed up, if I am honest, that it has to get to that for you to understand. Seems to be a bit narcissistic. "Only when it is indirectly happening to me/my kin I can understand."

I am not saying this to insult you. It is just something I have noticed in every generation and major push within male supporting the female voice. More fathers than husbands show up.
